Miller Dial: Custom made for every customer
As a business in the manufacturing industry, Miller Dial prides itself on the fact that 99% of what they make is a custom product. They provide a personal touch in the manufacturing world, by providing real customer solutions for any companies needs.
After speaking to the Vice-President of Sales, Bob Montano, I learned just how important exceeding customer expectations are for Miller Dial. During an interview, Mr. Montano shared his thoughts, product knowledge, and expertise about Miller Dial and the manufacturing world.
“The elements of success for Miller Dial boils down to five things; providing a customer a stream of defect free products, providing them those products at the lowest possible lead time, providing the product at the lowest possible cost, work hand in hand with customers to design their parts, and to help them with the quickest product launch as possible,” said Montano.
One can see that Miller Dial truly seeks solutions for its customers and their needs. Yet, there is more in-depth work that goes into providing real customer solutions. “Our philosophy is to have a customer to Miller Dial relationship that is very team oriented,” said Montano who also wants to embrace the customer with different levels of expertise. “We train all of our people to be able to interact with the customer,” said Montano. This philosophy makes product and business solutions easier for customers and that is a big focus for Miller Dial.
Next, we discussed one of Miller Dial’s premier products; its Touch Screen Technology. “Touch Screen Technology used to be in very limited use,” said Montano who went to say that it is now a standard interface for customers. “The difference between Miller Dial and our competitors Touch Screen Technology is that we can integrate Touch Screen into complete modules and subassemblies,” said Montano. He continued on in further detail. “The ability to integrate and combine multiple components can’t be done by most of our competitors,” said Montano.
From there we talked about Membrane Switches, and Miller Dial’s capabilities. “The Membrane Switch was invented in the late 60’s early 70’s, and their used in 99% of all electronic boxes out there today” said Montano who went to say that they are big from a development perspective. “It’s our job to make membrane switches that are reliable within the elements of customers applications, and that work with customers cost budgets, and that provide the look and feel that the customers want,” said Montano.
The goal for Miller Dial is to dynamically meet the customers’ needs, and give them exactly what they want. However, it goes even further than that for Miller Dial. “Very frequently we have to bring the customers vision to life with their products,” said Montano who seeks to do that with all Miller Dial products. “It’s our job to take the customer vision, create their product, and do it by being as cost affective as possible for the customer,” said Montano.
Miller Dial truly delivers on all aspects, and their goal is all about creating the best product for specified customer needs. They do so in an interpersonal manner, and they provide real solutions for any type of customer concern. Thus, for Bob Montano and Miller Dial, customers and their products not only come first, but they come exactly the way the customer specifically wants them.
